The chief selector of Pakistan women’s team, Urooj Mumtaz, on Wednesday announced the national T20I squad for home series against Bangladesh.

Bismah Maroof will lead the 14-member squad which includes Sana Mir, Anam Amin, Ayesha Zafar, Diana Baig, Iram Javed, Aliya Riaz, Javeria Khan, Kainat Imtiaz, Nahida Khan, Omaima Sohail, Saba Nazir, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin.

“The squad has been selected following the performance of these players and I hope they will perform strongly in the event,” the chief selector told media after announcing the team at National Stadium Karachi (NSK).

Urooj is excited that the women in green will be representing Pakistan at their home ground which will be good exposure for them. “It will be a good series as I hope both teams will play competitive cricket,” she said.

Talking about giving more chances to the emerging cricketers, Urooj said that this home series is a good chance to test those players who can be lethal for them in the future. “I think we have given chance to some new faces so that we can prepare them for our upcoming tough tour against England,” highlighted Urooj.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan women will play three T20Is against Bangladesh women on October 26, 28 and 30 respectively at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. The visiting side has already reached Lahore to play the series. Both teams will later play two ODIs on the same ground on November 2 and 4.
